Ekleipsis - Spoiler

A summary of Ekleipsis and introduction to Daegsteorra.

Born before the Ekleipsis, yet after the Dark Ages and fading of the Great Awakening, Vandor Leshing grew up during a time when the Darkness was somewhat quiet, though not completely.

History told of how King Allmachtig from Himmel had sent his son, Prince Salvare, to rule over Erde, but Salvare had been betrayed by one of his inner circle, namely Judarius. After having taken rule of Erde as King Salvare, Judarius and his men took the King by night and hung him upon a tree. King Salvare fought not, and thus were the Sealed scattered throughout Erde in fear, and the people fell under the Dark Ages of Judarius and his army of Darkness, namely Gottlos and Ubils.

King Allmachtig, having received word in Himmel, came to Erde, unseen in the veil of night, to restore life back to his son. King Allmachtig chose not to destroy all of Erde for such traitorous acts, but left such choices in the hands of his son, King Salvare, for Allmachtig had given Erde over to Salvare aforetime. It was then that King Salvare showed himself to some of his Sealed before leaving Erde to join his father in Himmel, but promised one day to return.

Judarius’ dark reign, in Oscuridad southwest of Erde through the Shadow Lands, was made short by the infiltrator Balor, who slew such a one, though cost him yet his own life also. Through Judarius came the mark, whereby those who accept such are forever in bondage to the Darkness, and also came Galtare his seed.

Galtare, filled with rage from the death of his father, swore to rid Erde of all remembrance of King Salvare and the Sealed. Many claimed Galtare was a son of a devil, therefore a devil himself. Galtare killed men, women, and children with his army of Gottlos and Ubils, pulling Erde deeper into the Dark Ages of sorrow. At least till his later years when Galtare and his army seemed to fall silent.

It was then that the Sealed were reborn in Kirche, and the light of King Salvare by his Whisper and Book of Wisdom did shine through, giving way to the Great Awakening. At the death of Galtare came the eldest of his eleven sons, Jagare, to rule in his stead over Oscuridad. Immediately, Jagare went forth with his father’s army of Gottlos and Ubils to attack the Sealed which dwelt in Signum. It was on this advancement that Jagare was dealt a deadly blow by an unknown arrow, thus his army fled and knowledge was able to increase in Erde concerning the things of King Salvare.

Yet, as the Sealed increased, and those that trusted once again in King Salvare’s Book of Wisdom, Jagare was restored to life by one name Rubicund, the Dragon of old. While he did sit and wait, the years of so-called peace did cause the hearts of men to become complacent and doubtful of the things concerning King Salvare and his return to Erde. It was time for Jagare, the Wicked One, to set forth in motion the Ekleipsis.

Vandor’s father Tindal was raised first in Signum, but Tindal’s father MaZak moved his family to Nesal before he was grown. Vandor’s mother Sorie was the sole survivor of the burning of her family’s village by Gottlos, and was raised by the seer Ashvar near by in Breckenly. It was in Nesal, that Vandor heard such history by listening to his grandfather MaZak tell stories of King Salvare’s Book of Wisdom and actively serving as one of the Sealed. It was here, away from the busy places of Erde, that Vandor met his friend Rayhold, and hidden love Kayla.

Rayhold was befriended by one named Onyx, a pale. Rayhold was soon led down a path of choices, whereby he grew in his want for power and sorcery. Such things were forbidden, and thus they were kept secret until the day Vandor, Kayla, and he was met by a Gottlos on their way back from visiting his friend Qualtes; whereby Rayhold’s choice of sorcery over honesty did grip his heart concerning Cenobia there. Though the three swore not to tell, Rayhold’s secret was given to the Council of Nesal, and thus Rayhold was confronted and jailed by night.

Enraged, Rayhold’s father Labo went throughout Nesal that same night, slaying all the council members he could. He searched for Rayhold in the cells below the council chambers, but unknowingly to him, Rayhold had been already freed by the power of Onyx. Labo was slain by Nau, as fear arose in the hearts of Tindal, Vandor, and Kayla for the mark of the Wicked One did appear upon Labo’s right hand. If such a one had infiltrated Nesal, how many other servants of the Darkness were there among the villages of Erde?

Kayla held within her heart that her father Tebad also had a dagger, she had once seen as a child, which carried the mark of the Wicked One. She confided in Vandor as to such on their way to search for MaZak among Trachten. It was on this journey that they met Wiltzer and Damaris, a dwarf couple of such they never knew existed. Wiltzer and his wife were headed back to the hidden dwarf village Hozekan, southeast of Erde, fleeing from the Darkness’ attack upon Trachten. A bond of friendship was created.

Wiltzer and Damaris returned to their people with the news of King Salvare’ Book of Wisdom and how it closely related to the dwarf book Legend of Pre-Hozekan. By the voice of the eldest of the council in Hozekan, they were able to persuade their emperor and the council to take heed of the coming Ekleipsis, of which Dartego (the friend of MaZak) was also able to flee Trachten and warn the Sealed in Kirche of such coming.

Headed still to find his grandfather MaZak, or at least to tell the Sealed in Signum of his findings, Vandor and Kayla found themselves midst a battle of the Sealed and Gottlos. It was here that Kayla was kidnapped away and Vandor was knocked unconscious, though gained a friend.

As the armies of Darkness did march forth throughout all of Erde, those who had taken heed to the warning of the Sealed and such found themselves in a secret dwelling of old called Geheim, in the Cadas Mountains. Many had made it there, including the dwarfs by way of the Sealed, though some did not. Of those that made it was the surprising return of Kayla, though Ashvar concluded that the one which stood before them was indeed touched by the Darkness.

The Ekleipsis was now upon Erde…
